Easter Congress 2012 - Southend Open

A seven round swiss tournament open to all. An ECF Grand Prix and FIDE rated event.

Prizes

£500 : £250 : £150 : £125

Grading Prizes : A minimum of £300 to be split according to entries

Junior Prize : £50 for the highest scoring player aged under 18 on 1st September 2011.

British Championship Qualifier : The highest placed eligible player, not already qualified, will be awarded a place in the 2012 British Championship in North Shields. The cost of this place is the player’s own responsibility.

Essex Championship : The highest placed eligible player will be awarded the title of Essex Champion and hold the Essex Championship trophy for one year.

Essex U160 Championship : The highest placed eligible player graded under 160 will be awarded the title of Essex U160 Champion and hold the Essex U160 Championship trophy for one year.

Entry Fee

Adult £32; Junior (Under 18 on 1st September 2011) £22
A £4 late fee is payable after 26th March, a further £4 for entries on 6th April.

ECF Membership

As this is a FIDE rated event, all English players must be members of the English Chess Federation.

Byes

One ½ point bye is available, this may be taken in any round (including the last). This must be requested at the time of entry.

Rate of Play

40 moves in 2 hours then all remaining moves in 1 hour.
